Who we are and how we got here.
Our Company
A Solid Foundation is a new company with over 20 years riding experience behind it.
All training is done by Jennifer Van Guilder who started riding horses when she was 4 and hasn't stopped since. She
has ridden for pleasure and competition. Both in the show ring and gaming events. Jennifer started training her
own horses at a young age. Has started all of her own colts and has been perfecting her training skills for over 15
years. The number of horses she has ridden and trained, both for herself and others, cannot be counted. She is
confident and kind and knows every horse has the potential to be a good horse with A Solid Foundation to instill the confidence
every horse needs to be successful. Whether you ride down the road, hit the trails or travel to compete, without confidence
in their abilities and confidence in their rider a horse cannot be successful.

Our Philosophy
A Solid Foundation believes that every horse has potential to be great. Yet, every horse
is very different. Each horse is treated as an individual, with respect, kindness, and a steady guiding hand. Horses
are trained slowly, according to thier individual level of learning. No horse is pushed to the next level until
THEY are ready to move on. Jennifer believes that a horse should do what is asked of it not out of fear but out of respect
and a desire to make thier rider happy. The main objective of A Solid Foundation is to tap into "what makes them tick",
help the horse build on those qualities and pass that on to the owner so both of you have the confidence to be successful
no matter what you choose to do.
